We are CCPA
The Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) is a national bilingual association providing professional counsellors and psychotherapists with access to exclusive educational programs, certification, professional development and direct contact with professional peers and specialty groups.
CCPA promotes the profession and its contribution to the mental health and well-being of all Canadians. As the profession’s advocate, we strengthen our mandate to remain the leading association for counselling and psychotherapy in Canada. We strive to increase awareness about the role of the profession in all healthcare, educational and industry sectors. CCPA supports cultural diversity and the importance of foreign-trained healthcare professionals in mental health. In our ongoing advocacy role, CCPA, with Government of Canada funding, improves labour mobility, and assessment and recognition of foreign-trained health care professionals.
Our membership includes experts and specialists in numerous mental health areas ranging from ADHD and learning disabilities; marriage counselling; eating disorders; stress, depression, and anger; grief and infertility; weight management and body image; addiction; Aboriginal issues; family counselling; career development and management, and much more. As a member of CCPA, you have access to the latest research and scholarly practices in the profession, job opportunities, potential clients, and the latest news on regulations and developments in counselling and psychotherapy. You are part of a professional group of the most qualified peers in Canada.
